Man with that dent and not trailer damage?? And my question. That’s a pretty new boat, insurance should have fix it? Seams kinda fishy to Me. Questions to ask...

Ask him to show you the check his insurance cut him, then discount the sales price by that amount.

Seems like another sucker just bought the boat, LOL. By the way as for the confusion regarding the "3 stroke" I just mistyped. It was a 4-stroke. However, I am planning now to buy a 2017 NauticStar 1810 Bay with a 90 Yamaha 4 stroke with terrova and Helix 9 for 20K. Was this a good deal? Also, is it necessary for me to get a compression test on top of the lake test? I would also be concerned about the possibility of Harvey flood damage to the motor and electronics..

Only way to get that much damage on the water you have to be coming in "hot" under power and slam into a piling or retaining wall and evidence by the way the rubber bumper strip being stretched out of shape indicates as well.
He probably replied after that lick,.... "that's going to leave a mark!"
If it happened in shallow water near a wall, there was probably some prop damage as well!
