Does anyone know if you still have to go online and buy a day pass or can you do it at the gate when you get there?

I was told “just show up” a few days ago, but I haven’t verified that it’s true....yet.

I do my online... Went Monday and very few people on the lake.. Caught 10 in the first hour and then 2 the rest of the day.

Let's put it this way; I would go online and purchase a day pass if I were you. I went there for the first time a few weeks back. When I got to the gate, the lady in the office asked me if I had a pass. I said that I did not. She said that I was lucky that day because they still had some passes left. They only allow "x" amount of people in the park each day. I always go online to get mine now.

Yes, Fairfield Lake State Park.

We went today. When we got there, there was a sign at the gate that said "Park is at full capacity."

What time was that? I went today, paid last night, and just drove in. 5:30ish. Nobody was there and the gate was open for us.

went to 'martin' state park yesterday .. had to reserve online.
there were 2 tpwd officers there checking boats livewells and trailers for various plantlife. hydrilla etc.

also verifying your reservation and issuing your pass.
