Hey all. Looking to place a tackle order to gear up for fall and winter bass fishing. Just curious if you guys had a favorite bait/lure/favorite color for texas lakes in the fall and winter. Love having different opinions

Trap and Chatterbait. Leave the rest of it at the house.

Depends on what type of lakes. As you get into winter then I would also add jerkbait, flat side crankbait and A-rig too.

There are some lakes around here that really don't transition into a textbook fall pattern until a couple weeks before Thanksgiving. From now until then, I'll just use what I did over the summer, but move back to the first or so secondary point structure. Spoons, deeper cranks, drop shot.

What colors do you guys like for fall and winter? I obviously know it varies with water color but just wondering if there's a particular color that works better than most in north/central/east texas lakes

Once you get into true winter fishing a red rattletrap is hard to beat.

Don’t sleep on the buzz bait in the fall if your lake has grass.

The fall, winter & spring time of the year is my favorite. You can catch them every way possible according to the conditions of the day. Hard to say my favorite.. I always throw a jig. One of my go to baits. But I have caught them on a spook in December. I try to go out every time with an open mind and let the conditions tell me what to do. A trap, spinner bait, or crank bait is usually what I start with to see how they are acting. Then go from there.

Topwaters until December, then jig and a swim bait, early next year I will add a jerkbait.
