9/05. Started at sunken island at the break of dawn in 10 fow and almost immediately started catching fish. Caught fish every cast for a little bit and then they started coming in waves of fish, (meaning we would go for a little bit with no fish, then catch one every cast again).Fish started schooling around us about 8:30 . They did not stay up long until they went back down, but we did manage to catch a few. Lightning ran us off for about 30 minutes or so, and when we returned, there was a Big Crappie guide boat trolling through the 10 fow area and catching fish sometimes 3 at a time. We positioned our boat out of their trolling lane in about 8 to 10 fow and picked up a few fish. Left there when bite slowed about 11 ish, and went to the tennis courts in 10 fow and started catching fish there by casting the mepps into about 15 to 20 fow and bringing it back into 10 fow, and caught fish there till about 12:00 . We probably caught 60 fish total between both spots, and ended up keeping 42 sand bass and 4 hybrids. All fish caught on # 4 Mepps casting and reeling horizontally back to the boat. All but 11 or so were caught at sunken island

Thanks for the intel. I could find fish down south, but they were very finicky. Caught enough to keep guests happy though.

9/07. Sunken Island was the spot again today. Started there again at the break of dawn, but this time started in about 15 fow. After 20 to 30 minutes of no fish, moved up to 7 fow and started catching fish. Just like Saturday, we caught fish every cast for a little bit, and then the bite would slow down , and 5 to 10 minutes or so later it would pick back up again. Bite shut down to almost nothing about 8:30 and had to move around some to find them again. Around 9:00, after trying a few more places around the island with no luck, finally found fish in about 11 to 12 fow , and sat up in 8 fow casting into the 11 to 12 fow and caught a few more. Ended with probably 45 total. Kept 29 sand bass and one 18 1/2 inch hybrid. Fished till about 10:30. All fish caught on a #4 Mepps casting and reeling horizontally back to the boat.

Labor Day Weekend: Had lots of family come for a Covid-19 deferred 4th July celebration. We got out fishing 5 times with various family ranging from 8 years to 77 years old who don't get to fish much. Fish were finicky but everyone caught some fish and seemed excited about it. We caught fish at Saint Annes Point West, Flag-pole Point, Long Ridge and Long Ridge West, Key Ranch and Key Ranch North, Mid-lake Hump, Merimac Point and Game Warden Hump using # 4 Mepps. In addition to fishing we had jet-ski rides, tubing, golf cart rides, horse shoes, a big fireworks show and lots of just hanging out. Here are some pics:
