You can always tell who’s actually been there from some of these threads......

If you rally have to enter those areas, you are better off blending in than taking on 100 protestors. Carry a home made BLM sign that you can shove up into your windshield.

Guys
Maybe I should have been more clear.
Many times we will be working at a fuel site very late into the night. Not a situation of just wandering around downtown with a hurt me sign around my neck.

Not always is it what you want but what you have to get done. We will be working a couple of nights at a school district in Houston across the beltway from Greenspoint. (Gunpoint). I don’t fear going anywhere but there’s big difference between looking for a car jacker and a swarm of ferals who’s only purpose is mayhem.

My great uncle was a Texas Ranger and his sage advise on defending yourself was if the threat is ten feet away your purpose is to make dang sure it can’t get to five feet.

Pat, having firepower is fine. Having the right tool to do the job efficiently is fine. I don't see any issues ... the more tools the merrier. Now for a mass attack by large numbers you'd probably under armed. To take down a crowd of determined attackers would take a minigun/chaingun :

For a small group I'd choose an AR15 SBR and your revolver (although I like double stack semi auto in .45acp)

The short shotgun in 12ga with extended magazine loaded with alternating 00 buckshot and #4 buckshot can be useful.

Have you considered a Kel-Tec PMR 30 in .22 WMR ... it's an absolute wildcat with a 30 round mag.

All give you the capacity to unleash a lot of projectiles in a short timeframe. Know the simple laws of gun fighting ... don't bring a knife to a gunfight and an empty firearm generally makes a $h!tty club.

Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it.

Seriously though, I used to have to enter some bad areas, and just carried a 1911 .45 and a pump 12 gauge. Just enough stuff to get me in a real bind I’m sure.

I would have the 1911 or 357 as my holstered weapon. A good self defense shotgun for the vehicle. In life or death situations, you don't want to aim a weapon such as a pistol or AR. A shotgun, you just point in the general direction and fire for effect. A Judge would be a good close range weapon to have as well, while driving.

A school district might not allow you to carry on their premises but what they don't know.....

I don't know if I ever asked you but I had family living in Seadrift. Uncle Butsy and George Spencer lived and ran shrimp boats down there. Both have passed now but some of the family still live in and around the area.

You must have giant hands to hold that .30 automag. I shot one it was like holding a 1x4 the grip was so big. I might be exaggerating a bit but quite a bit bigger than 10MM. Regardless, super cool rare pistol.

We've had the first house here 11 years, moved full time two years ago. Not long enough yet to get my Seadrift Green card, we're still one of *them*....

Although, they know my scooter, and have decided I'm ok, because I run a true poaching machine.

this is my personal defense choice, it has been in the truck with me and all over here at the ranch. had a breaching choke added and pattern at 50 yds. is still only about 4' with 00. 870/18" is a great truck gun.

Just got back yesterday from an RV trip out into East Texas. Usually I just have a .45 on me with a few extra mags, but this trip I found a nice spot in my truck for my AR with a 30 rd. I'm not going to be"over-run". They are chickenshixts anyway. First two or 3 you drop will get some attention. No problem. The antifa BLM thug marxists do not know what swarming is like.

Pat add an 870 3” mag with 00 buck, and your good to go. I doubt if the protestors when met with true force will have much fight in them.

Cod piece with a machine gun is my preference. It’s kind of a family tradition.
