Most Shimano casting reel owners seem to prefer the Curado 200e reels as opposed to the 200g reels. Can someone please point out the differences between the two series of Curado reels? Thanks

This write up here compares the two reels directly as well as compares the G Series to some other reels. They break down all the specs and details.

In short, the G has 2 less bearings than the E and itโ€™s a little more plasticky feeling. I own both models, both are good but I prefer the Es. The E series is getting ridiculously expensive now, though, a lot of the used ones I see selling go for more than they cost new. The G series is still a good reel at a much better price than what the E are selling for, and I like mine.

I have one that works just fine. They often sell for $40-$60 less than 200e series reels. I have seen a few in very nice condition for around $95, but they are getting scarce.
