Any dog breeders here ? My Aussie has an enlarged Mammary area, it is not hard, as a lump, totally soft, just noticed as she had a close cut and we noticed it... She has been spayed and is 14 yrs old.

Why do you want to talk to a breeder about this?

Just felt they would have a better handle on dog treatment, medical etc...I have personally owned very many dogs in 87 years, just never seen this. However, thanks for your interest.

I think CowDoc on the THF is a vet...might post it over there, if you haven't already. I hope you get the answers you need. I wish I could be of more help.

Probably a totally harmless lipoma. Fatty deposit. Has your dog gained weight recently? They can become noticeable with weight gain.

You should probably get your dog checked out if you are worried about it, but when our dog had a similar soft lump on the chest, the vet said it was a harmless fatty deposit. Our dog is 10 and has a soft lump about the size of a half golf ball. It's squishy and not painful for the dog to touch it.

the location of your dog's lump seems like it could be something different.

good luck

I prefer breading foxes.

See really seems quite healthy, except for the age related back problems, the weight gain/loss thing coupled with the new hair cut just may be the answer.

btw: She has always been and will continue to be under Vets care, just sometimes the trip is unnecessary.

Could be a harmless fatty deposit or could be cancer, only a vet will be able to tell you. So don't be stubborn Neil and take your dog to the vet.
