Anybody ever had this problem? Thinking about going to a chiropractor to see if it helps. It’s affecting my casting when I’m fishing now.

As a former baseball player and high school coach for 40+ years, my shoulder is bad. I have gotten cortisone shots every 3-6 months depending on the pain. It has been so bad at times, I couldn't sleep. The shot helps.

Been there, done that. Throw in tendinitis in 3 of the 4 tendons for good measure and you not only get the steroid shots but a few weeks of physical therapy.

May you be treated the way you treat other people, today and everyday!

Yes, had surgery in 1986, to shave some bone. It helped but my shoulder was never the same

chiropractor is for your spine, you'll need to go to an orthopedic doc (bone and joint)

Hey Racing. I was diagnosed with Impingement Syndrome in 2003. My Orthopedic Dr. sent me to Physical Therapy saying that it "might' help. It didn't the 1st or 2nd time (2nd time was my idea cuz I didn't want surgery). Didn't help the 2nd time thru PT, so I went into avoidance mode.
I spent enough time trying to avoid surgery that it wound up precluding fixing the shoulder the easier way (arthroscopic) and I had to have an "open acromioplasty" (probably spelled wrong), where he opened the shoulder, detached the deltoid muscle from the bone so he could shave the shoulder blade and remove the bursa sac. I'm not going to BS you, that was a very long and painful recovery. Trashed my fishing and golfing for a good long time.
I'd recommend seeing a good Orthopedic Doc. soon and not putting it off.

I will say that after all the Physical Therapy and some time, my shoulder is probably as good now as it was before the impingement. The pain was bad enough it was worth all the carp I went through to live pain free.

A chiropractor here in Mt Pleasant advertises for helping it and other problems. www.durrumchiropractic.com

What is shoulder impingement?
Years ago when I first started swinging a golf club, my left shoulder hurt so bad, I couldnt lift my arm. I went to an Orthopedic doctor who shot the shoulder with Cortisone (I think). Pain went away and never came back. Now, many years later, about 3 weeks ago my right shoulder has started aching, It wakes me at night. I think it's Arthritis, as l have Arthritis in my knees. I started getting injections in my left knee. The first 3 shots of Cortisone did not help, the first shot of Zilretta did work. It's supposed to last up to 3 months.

Impingement pain is very sharp and stabbing. Basically anything I did with my right arm above shoulder height was killer. Throw, tennis serve, etc. unreal pain
