uhhhh, jefe, my line of thinking is that since the 2 of them turned themselves in that they pretty much admitted guilt.
having won all the money with fish they caught by knowingly going off limits is flat out cheating.

What I read in that story is that there are some cry babies in that tourney who snitched.
Fishing outside a boundary isnt nearly the same as tied up fish etc.
Outside the boundary could mean to close to the weigh in area, too close to a off limits at the dam etc.
I am from this area. Boundaries are easily defined. It would be extremely difficult to "accidentally" cross a boundary. There's no imaginary boundary crossing a lake or a bayou. The intracoastal waterway, Atchafalaya River, and levee systems are typically the boundary areas. There's essentially 3 different ecosystems that all can fish extremely differently. You have the southern marshes, the Atchafalaya Basin (swamp), and Stevensville Area (swamp). The marshes and Atchafalaya Basin are greatly affected by flood waters and fishing depends on river levels. The Stevensville Area is less affected by water levels since it is separated from the Atchafalaya River by locks and levees. Probably hardest to catch a big sack on the Stevensville side, and I'm guess this is where the tournament was held. In addition due to Louisiana's screwed up laws, there are tons of places not accessible to the public that are known for outstanding fishing. I don't personally know the men in question, but I do know that it would be nearly impossible to "accidentally" fish outside the assigned boundaries.

Good to see no one agrees with Jeff from Iowa.

Dig into it more and it is obvious that they intentionally violated the no boundaries.
Southern boundary was hwy 90 so 2 bridges were the boundary. It’s not like they were fishing those 2 bridges, As I suspected they ran several miles further south and east to fish the marshes which almost always yield better stringers than the region designated for this tournament. It would be like a pair of Anglers fishing Lake Fork and the rest of the Anglers fishing (insert any lake that fishes smaller).
Not only did they delete GPS trails on their units, but they apparently took a route that adds a great deal of time to their trip in an effort to go undetected.
Will be interesting to see how this plays out. Bourg fished several trails and even fished With a local club that I am friends with most of the participants. It’s a Pretty tight group of guys, so will be interesting to see how they react. I know some of the larger trails have already black listed him.

Sounds like they knowingly and willfully went into the off-limits and took measures to cover it up. That’s clearly cheating. There could be a off limits violation that is unintentional. Not the case here.
In BASS there have been a number of times over the years that a angler turned themselves in after they did some thing they found out wasn’t in the rules. Breaking the rules isn’t necessarily cheating. It could in some cases be unintentional. Even KVD has been disqualify for a tournament years ago. I think he had someone operate his boat during off limits. Still it always should be a DQ.
