News Article Someone didn't have their lights on. I have been out there many times and have seen people without lights on in the dark.

Sad but so preventable. Hope for full recovery for all involved.

I see boats leave the ramp in the dark with no lights nearly every weekend.

Damn. Wonder if the boat with no lights was having electrical problems or just being negligent. Either way, sucks to hear about another of these events.

I know bugs get bad when lights are on. Buy some Off. It's bad enough when adults decide to break the law and endanger themselves and others, but doing it with a child in the boat?

I came close to running into a house boat that was anchored in the middle of the lake with no lights on, that one reason I don't night fish anymore. YOU CAN"T FIX STUPID.

I was there last night, did not witness this but it was a friend that was involved. What I know is that there was a boat with no lights on (multiple witnesses from the shore) that had a 13 year old girl. 16 year old girl, and a much older man... The story reads it was disabled with no power but I was told they were idling back tword the Casino Beach ramp. In the pics I have there isnt a light pole one on the boat. The Skeeter that hit that boat with no lights kinda ramped it when it hit, throwing the passenger in the Skeeter from the boat... but both fishermen were as good as can be expected, I'm sure quite sore today. The 13 year old girl has an open pelvic fracture and was airlifted to the hospital. Praying she makes it through and praying for my friends that have this traumatic experience ingrained in their heads.
I personally saw 2 boats with no lights running the lake in the dark last night, 2 jest skis running after dark with no lights, and a kayaker kicking across the mainlake in the dark with a light barely taller than his head. I dont know if it was the full moon or what but there was a ton of stupid on Worth last night.

I was driving my Ranger down Lake Granbury a couple of years ago with barely twilight light at sunrise. I could see our channel markers and all of a sudden, a female kayaker was right on my bow out in the middle of the channel. No lights, kayak was a royal blue color. I was able to swerve somewhat but i bet she thinks about going out into the middle of the channel again. Not even reflective clothing like runners wear. I guess she was trying to do her morning exercise. Doesn’t do much good to exercise if you’re dead

I have no desire to fish at night. This just confirms for me that I am not that mad at the fish to risk my life.

What kind of boat was it! Any photos to share? We will not be sharing any detail outside of what Buda posted at this time. There is an ongoing investigation with the Ft Worth PD, Ft Worth Marshals office and the Game Wardens. It was a very bad deal and the guys are quite shaken still. The boat that was hit was in very bad shape.
