Anyone using this app on their phone? If so, do you know how I set waypoints/markers when I’m not on that spot? For example, in at home right now looking at lakes. I want to set some markers on spots to try, but when I hit the pin on that spot, it automatically puts the pin at my current location (home).

On my old boat that didn't have flush mounted graphics, I would bring my unit in and hook it up to a small battery and sit and look at the topo maps and set waypoints for where I wanted to try lol.

What I want to know is if I can get my waypoints that I set while sitting at home onto my helix 9??????????? It can be done but what are you using to “get my waypoints that I set while sitting at home......”. Getting them to your unit will depend how you are creating your waypoints. Are you using the Navionics app or something else? Ultimately, you will have to use HumminbirdPC to get them on your Helix 9, but you may have to convert your waypoints to a format that HumminbirdPC will recognize.

can also just enter in long/lat This is very true, if you just have just a few waypoints, however, if you have several it is better just to export them from the app. It only takes a few seconds.

can also just enter in long/lat I have about 30 waypoints I have set over the past two nights of sitting around at home. Using the navionics app and google earth images from a few years ago when my home lake was WAY down. Crazy what you can find when the lake is almost empty hahah

Ultimately, you will have to use HumminbirdPC to get them on your Helix 9, but you may have to convert your waypoints to a format that HumminbirdPC will recognize. Watched a pretty good video by Edwin Evers about this last week on YouTube. Part of his Project E series. He did a 2 part series on using google earth. On the second video he went into how to put them on an SD card, convert them and then load them on your graph.

When in doubt, set the hook.

Using the navionics app and google earth images from a few years ago when my home lake was WAY down. Crazy what you can find when the lake is almost empty hahah Just go into the “Menu” in the app, it doesn’t work for the “Online app”, choose “Markers”, that is what Navionics calls waypoints, top right corner, choose “Select”, pick all the “Markers/Waypoints” you want to use, then “click” the little box with the up arrow that is on the bottom left of the page, choose “Export GPX File”, then choose “Mail”, then email the file to yourself. Copy the file to your computer, open that file in HumminbirdPC, select all the waypoints, while your cursor is WITHIN, the “Icon” column, “Right Click” and choose “Change Icon”, then select the Helix “Icon”you want to use, this will change the symbols to all the waypoints that are highlighted, then save the file. Now you can transfer that file to your memory card using HumminbirdPC and load to your unit. It doesn’t take long at all and beats having to manually input a bunch of waypoints. If you are marking different types of structure in the app, I would export a different file for each type of structure so when you input the file into HumminbirdPC, you can change the symbol to whatever you want to use for those waypoints.
Have a Blessed Day, Mike
