Anyone been lately? What's biting? Looking for some "non-boat" action.. thinking about doing some pond/creek fishing tomorrow.

I haven't been since they completed all the construction. Tried once by the soccer fields but their were too many guys hanging out drinking and smoking pot and made feel a little uncomfortable leaving my truck behind.

The entire river is re-stocked thanks to the long stretches of open gates at Lewisville and Grapevine. Depending on species sought, you might try Campion Trails park on Riverside in Las Colinas. Deep river bend holds hefty channels, blues and flatheads. California Crossing dammabout a half mile downstream from Campion, holds hybrids, white bass, crappie and all manner of catfish. The Elm Fork just south of 635/Luna Rd holds catfush, big ones, crappie, black and spotted bass, and because the river is VERY WIDE here, in the summer, the white baas school on surface chasing shad and minnows. Hybrids can be had here in the fall and winter. Like I said, the river is fully re-stocked, thanks to Lewisville and Grapevine.

Hey is that place just south of 635 listed as Colinas Crossing Lake. Any recommendations on spots there? Not sure what the best access there would be

Great catfish spit in summer. Good for crappie in spring. Lot of lm bass and spots. Big drum, buffalo and gar. I access it on Luna Rd. Fish the east bank. Some say the west bank is good but I've lost too many hooks on that side. Also, there are soft shell turtles in there the size of manhole covers!. In the hot summer and early fall, big white bass chase shad on the surface like in the lakes. Early morning is when they are liable to explode big hybrid strippers will be in with them. I fish it semi regularly..

I too am curious where to park (legally) to get to Colinas Crossing Lake...maybe on Mira Largo Blvd near the north side of the lake.

For what it's worth, there's a construction project just north of California Crossing Dam. There is a temporary "dam" (sandbags attached to each) about 50 yards above the concrete dam. On Saturday I didn't attempt to fish above that location because it would require fishing at the top of the new rock bank they have installed. I think it let's water through as the water level was the same on both sides. The water level was above the concrete dam.

Two bass caught. One at the Bird's Fort park (upstream from the dam) and the other at the dam.

Colinas crossing lake has ample parking at the ibm bldg on Luna next to the new apartments on the EAST side, the west/NW side has new apartments and i am not sure about the parking situation there. Before the apartments, you used to be able to jump the curb and drive to the water. I hardly fish that side so not sure about parking over there

Yeah. Spots, largemouths, hybrid striper, channel and blue cats. Didn't post pics of the white bass, crappie, drum, buffalo, gar, and bluegill I've caught there as well. Not to mention the jumbo sized soft shell turtles!
