LOL. I owned a car wash back in the day when people paid cash to wash their cars. When I put that car wash up for sale the first idiot that looked at it wanted to see my balance sheet. I laughed and showed it to him. His eyes got big and he said "Man, this place loses money every year!" I laughed some more and told the guy it was nice to meet him. Moral to the story. Cash only businesses and divisions of a business will always lose money on paper. Even the cash only division of a Mega Corporation/ Government conglomerate like Luminate. Sorry, but I have never believed that Squaw actually operated at a net loss. It's easy to dump random expenses in the lap of a division that you would rather not operate. Let's be honest. It would take very very little investment to make the entry process 100% hands off by the employees.

Most folks that fish Squaw all know the key to catching the better fish is to turn OFF your headlights at the ramp. If you do not choose to do this then all you will catch are the 1.90 to 2.10s.

I agree. I have been wanting to take my dad out there for years.. we fished it a lot when i was a kid. Lots of great memories. I now have a 7 yo son and we have been wearing Granbury and other lakes out. He would freak out at the clear water and stuff you can see (old houses and stuff underwater). So taking my dad and him out there has been something i've been chomping at the bit to do.

I cant even count how many 100 fish days we have had out there the last few years. Gonna miss it for sure. I dont get the guys bashing it or not catching fish there its a pretty easy lake to fish. Now catching the big ones is whole nother story! What the heck am I supposed to do this winter?

Slow your optimism, 2.10 lbs at best.

The exposure risk to employees is BS as well. There are literally 1000 ways they could keep squaw open and their employees would never have to come in contact with a single person. Online payment, different gate setup, pre schedule only, I could go on and on.....In other words they could run the place like its the year 2020 and not 1960. Personally I could care less. I hate fishing any lake that crowded, but they made a commitment to the State when that place was permitted for construction to maintain some public access to the lake. The state should make them honor that commitment.

Well said.

Agree with Tx Tree Grower, hard to believe that park loses money every week when open.

I don't think anyone said it loses money every week. But being open 52 weeks a year. I bet it loses money yearly

Someone help us with the math. $30 per boat x average number per week. That seems like a good amount of money to cover the bills. In peak season it will be $3k per day if they get 100 boats.
