Gateway Pundit might not be a neutral source, but the article does link to the CDC website to the page with the information: "For 6% of the deaths, COVID-19 was the only cause mentioned. For deaths with conditions or causes in addition to COVID-19, on average, there were 2.6 additional conditions or causes per death."https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/nvss/vsrr/covid_weekly/index.htm (under the Comorbidities heading) Addendum: Whether Gateway Pundit's analysis of that statement and the data is correct - that's for you to research and decide. I don't know whether the CDC updated data as stated in the article or not, or whether there has been a change in reporting. The statement itself is certainly worth noting, for me anyway, as I haven't seen it reported before and it is stated on the CDC site.

Don’t know what to believe anymore.
We had an elderly woman die of a heart attack last week. When her COVID test came back...she was positive. COVID death? I don’t know...

I assume app. 170,000 would still be alive if no underlying conditions such as age were present. Therefore, I assume covid had nothing to do with their deaths. All they had to do is wait a couple of months, contract the flu, and die at that time.
