So I went out yesterday and fished standing timber at Benbrook. I would just go from tree to tree pulling one or two keepers from each spot then they would stop biting even though I could see them stacked up with Livescope just sucked up to the trees almost looked like they were part of the tree. I was about to head in and decided to check on more stump and I’m glad I did. Pulled 10 keepers all 13-14in and I thought it was spawning season they way they were thumping my jig. Why is the bite so different in just moving approximately 50 yards.

That’s how they are. Drop some minnows on the finicky fish and they will bite better.

Minnows was going to be my reply as well. I have fished the exact same spot with jig and minnows. Minnows would generally catch twice the amount of fish the jig would,

Where did you launch? I’ve been wanting to drag my boat over there and take dad fishing soon!

I launched at holiday but water is getting low. The gate attendant said they are close to shutting down ramps. I would go to mustang since it is always last to shut down.

Do y’all know if Rocky Creek Park is open? Where you can actually drive in and not park at the gate and walk?
