Hi Folks,
For my 1st pole, I built a pole using the Ram mount method. The one I bought was too small, and just didn't work for me. So in doing some more research, looking at others decided to build a modified version of the PVC type that many have built and use successfully. Of course this one has some things I wish were better, but so far I like the way it's working. One of the main things was I wanted to be able to control the tension on the rotation and it's working quite well. Using schedule 40 T limited durability so I went from threading through it to using a piece of aluminum flat bar, jb weld a 5/16 nut and embeddig it into the T. It's held in place by hose clamps and should be plenty durable. I also put a pointer on the top of the pole I used so I'm not using the handle as a pointer. The pole - is a painters extendable pole and was the most expensive part - but I had one that I cut down for this. Anyways...sharing with the TFF in case someone wants to try this method. I did not inlcude specific instructions on how I built it, but happy to answer questions.

Rocky, i typed up a nice reply earlier and for some reason, either didn't submit or it got lost in the ether space. I'm guessing about $90. The most expensive part was the paint pole around $25 for a new one. I had one already that cut to size.

Red,

I got it from Amazon. I used calipers to get the dimensions In needed. Note the bearings aren't doing anything for me, it was simply to provide a durable surface to use to control the rotation. It's working great by the way. $9.59.
Depending on your specific materials, verify the measurements. This is the product description, you can search this way. Uxcell is the seller.

uxcell B2016 Needle Roller Bearings, Full Complement Drawn Cup, Open, 1-1/4-inch I.D. 1-1/2-inch OD 1-inch Width 20600N Static Load 8510N Dynamic Load 3500Rpm Limiting Speed

It was tight on mine, enough that I had to drive it on with a piece of PVC. I used some expoxy on the location I wanted it to stay, i.e. put the epoxy on the shaft and drove the bearing onto it.
