She's a bad dude! I cannot believe anyone trying to ride Laura out. Cat 4 and may turn into Cat 5 by landfall. Right now max wind gusts are over 173mph. Max wind is 143. She gonna rip and roar and tear asunder.

I caught a crew boat out of Cameron in '06, about a year after Rita came through. It was pretty devastating seeing nothing but cement slabs and piles upon piles of debris. I imagine this one will be the same.

Man I feel bad for Southwest La. and Upper Texas coast residents. They may not recognize the area when/if they return. I bet there is a bunch of people that don't return to the area's, they will do like the Katrina evacuees and just stay where they were taken.

Like Monty said the power is amazing and concrete may be all thats left. If Laura stays a little bit more to the left all those freighters and tankers in the Ship Channel will get hammered as well as thousands of shipping containers that are stacked from Galveston north. And Downtown Houston is just beyond the Ship Channel with a lot of big buildings and glass! 🤞

One of my co-workers is in Beaumont. For some reason he didn't get out before the closed the flood gates. Gonna have to ride it out. He said he has food, water, his valuables in water tight bags, a chainsaw, axe, and a life raft in the attic. Him and the dog will be there as long as they can. And, he lost everything in Harvey. You would think he would know better.
