It is supposed to turn North and hasn't. It is still heading straight for Houston. It is too late to evacuate Houston so it really needs to turn.

She(Laura) appears to be starting to ease to the right toward Crystal Beach and High Island- which means it could have a big impact on the Clear Lake/Kemah area also. If it travels up the Houston Ship Channel...........YIKEs! Hopefully not!

Excellent, is it coming up through DFW? I had to pick my boat up at Rockwall Marine around 12:15 today and we got rained on hard coming back but it stopped on the Rockwall side of the bridge. So far, here in Liquor City, only got a brief sprinkling.

Laura is moving northwest at 16 mph, which is blazing fast for this part of the Gulf. For folks in Houston, it’s important to know that Laura is doing what is expected, and “the turn” is underway. It’s not “if” or “when.” It “is” happening, and thankfully in the world of 21st century meteorology we can say that with authority. We will not be hit too hard here by this storm. Laura is expected to make landfall on the Cameron Parish side of the Texas/Louisiana border as a category 4 hurricane tonight perhaps around or just before midnight.
