Wanting to replace the primer bulb on a 03 yamaha 225 hpdi (2-stroke) . Planning on going back w/ yamaha brand but none of the ones i find list my motor. Sooo my ? is does it matter which one as long as I get the correct size (5/16 or 3/8) ?

I don't think it matters. A standard/universal bulb that fits you fuel line should work...just put it on right.

Spend money on a good OEM bulb of a different brand, like evinrude or mercury. They work and last way longer then the cheap ones.

I echo what Alumacraft14 said. I bought a cheap one many years and one of the check valves failed almost immediately. I replaced it with a Merc one. Don't know if they use better materials or what, but I have heard this same story many times.
