I moved down here about 7 years ago to take a new job. That new job consumed me for 6 years. Now in a new job that allows time to go fishing banana

Recently my fishing has been more doodling with my new electronics than actually fishing. With trip #3 or 4 and after a movement of my transducer, I finally got some good images on my new unit and learning how to use the new stuff.

Got on the water a little after 7
After pushing buttons for an hour I went looking for fish. Found some.
8 a.m they were at 40ft. By 9a they moved to 60ft. Once they went to 60, they started to have a hard time going back down after the release so I stopped. I had no interest in killing fish just so that I could have a little fun so I stopped. I put 4 in the box but could have easily kept another if I wanted. Every fish I caught was 20 - 22 in length and fairly healthy looking.

All fish caught on slabs. Had a dead stick fluke set out at 35ft but never any takers.
They wanted the bait on the move. All caught on the upward retrieve of fishing vertical except for one. He must have been yawning and my slab dropped right in his mouth because that 1.5oz slab was deep in his throat.

Tried worming the bait back to the boat but never any takers. Vertical was the ticket that day.
I couldn't remember how to take a screen shot so I had to go old school and shoot a pic of the unit.

When wifey and I were talking about moving down here, there was a part of the conversation that was about what is in the DFW that we don't want to leave.
For me it was the fishing, but I was willing to give it up. And I did. For 6 years. Well enough of that $%^&! I got to get back into fishing!
laugh

Just renewed the fishing license last weekend. And I bought the Texoma endorsement. Gives me a good reason to drive back up to the big pond before the year is up.
I'll have to arrange it around the taco Tuesday at Cedar Mills. Been wanting to try out the food. smile

At least the work did make you forget how to find and catch fish. Good job! Thanks for sharing.

I can still find the fish. But I will say, I do find the trees and rocks much easier wink

Hah, yep me too! My dad always said,"you got to get in the rocks and trees to catch the fish".
