Got to Fayette at 8:00am and the parking lot was about half full at Oak Thicket. The new management has done a lot of just general cleaning up. Lot of brush cleared, trails opened up, new docks, and the restroom doesn't smell like week old pee. New paint helps.
Ok, the fishing. New docks are very nice, water level may be 6" above full pool, and water looks good. I was mainly playing today with the troll motor, ShuttleSlide( A great addition!), and the new depth finder that still doesn't turn on and off right. May be a lemon. I know Vogey said the fish bite had cooled way off at the intake, but I decided to give it a try. Left my box of Gulp alive at home but found 1 package in the boat. Caught 25 fish before I ran out of Gulp Minnows, the wind was picking up, and the heat was on high! Of the 25 fish, 23 were Rios, two were sunfish of some kind. No real size, most were 5-6 inches with a few approaching 9-10 inches. It looks like the Rio spawn may be in high gear, all were males and full of well, you know. The bait had to be worked right on top of the rocks, and of course a lot of breakoffs. Hung two fish that may have been catfish, couldn't turn them at all. One broke my line when it made a hard run. Overall a good day.
When I got back to the ramp, only two trailers in the parking lot.

No pics, the battery went dead on my GoPro. Got good video running around the lake, but when I started fishing, I tried to take a pic and the battery was dead. I had the wifi on and I guess it ran the battery down pretty quick.

The graph is a puzzler. It gave this problem the first time I used it. I played with it several times at home, and it worked fine. I finally got the graph to work but it acted up again and I had to unplug the power cord to get it to turn off. Plugged it back in and it worked for a while.

Forgot to mention, the new management has done nothing about the entrance road or the area in front of the ramp, still in rough shape. But they are installing a new set of gates at the entrance.

Bill...Yep, you can still catch a bunch of Rios off the rocks. Not sure where the Sunfish went, but your 2 fish there tells the story. And you have to be ready for the catfish in that area as well...just let the drag sing for a good while...eventually they will tire out. Good luck with the electronics...it can get very frustrating...
