I know there are many of faith on this forum, so I was moved to mention how impressed I was yesterday at Clark Wendandt and Bill Weidler giving the credit to The Lord for their success. Bill even talked about being on his knees praying that God would help him catch 'em yesterday and he gave all the credit to Him. I'm sure many noticed this, but it just really struck me. In these tumultuous times it's great to see IMHO!!

It’s good to see believers express their gratitude in the Lord.
I am not one to think that the Lord answers prayers within the sports world when there are other faithful competitors as well. Doesn’t make sense. Maybe if you were the only person of faith in a sport filled with agnostics. Lol. But outside of that I think the Lord doesn’t directly bless one Christian over another with winning fish. My two cents.
If you can't find em wind em.

Maybe like keeping him from falling out of his boat or sinking his boat!

Well, the Lord doesn’t operate with limited resources like a police department or charity, I’m just saying that one Christian asking the Lord for the ability or scenario to beat another Christian in competition isn’t something the Lord puts his hand in.
If you can't find em wind em.

As a praying man that is highly confused on his beliefs, I have never understood prayer.
I hear people say, "God has a plan for everyone."
Then they pray someone is healed. If that person is healed they Thank God, if that person dies, they say it was God's plan. So why pray?
Do some believe if it is God's plan for said person to die they will change God's mind through prayer?

Prayer is a strong force in the life of true Christians. We all have short comings and I see nothing wrong with asking God to help use overcome the obstacles in our daily lives; no matter how small or large. Coming before God in prayer is the only way I know of letting Him know He is of the higher power over what I need to accomplish today and everyday of my life. I believe all things are in Gods hands and if it is His will, it will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

There's a verse in James that says, "You don't have because you don't ask God."
If I don't have because God answer's "no" to my request, I'll pray for contentment.
But I never want to be not having because I didn't ask.
Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake?" - The Messiah

2 Timothy promises us "Power, love, and sound mind". God also promises us peace that doesn't make sense in stressful situations. If he was tapped into those promises, which from listening to him, I do believe he had some supernatural help. That being said, I also have always had a problem when I hear "God saved us from that tornado that destroyed my neighbors house"... That doesn't make sense to me.

Not sure the Lord even wastes his time on a activity that is sort like gambling in a sense. I could be wrong Ive been wrong before.

Kind of like saying the Lord was good to me on my last Vegas trip! Don't get me wrong, I am religious but I think sometimes people carry things a little too far. But to each their own and so be it.
