My wife and I are considering on where to go for the upcoming holiday. She likes to catch crappie. I heard that Spence was open and that you could put a boat in. Anyone know if you can get live bait some place local to the lake?
Thanks, David

Contact Wildcat Marina at 325-453-2801. They had a good variety of live bait the last time I was there. Good Luck

Wildcat has been carrying minnows. The lake is dropping about an inch every 24 hours. I don't catch a lot of crappie in Spence, but I don't target them either. I did hear a lady caught a 3.5 pound crappie a couple of months ago. I suspect if you throw crappie minnows you'll be fighting all the 10" bass off all day.
