Anyone tried flush mounting an HDS Carbon 12 at the console? I've measured and it looks tight!

Anyone tried flush mounting an HDS Carbon 12 at the console? I've measured and it looks tight! I installed a friends HDS12 gen3 into his. It was close, but did fit. The gen3 is the same footprint as the Carbon.

Thanks Steez...replacing the 9 inch. Didn't know if i should flush mount or cover the hole and install a mount. Appreciate the feedback sir
