I purchased a used 1989 Bass Tracker Tournament TX 17 back in 1991 from Fun-N-Sun. After a few months it was taking on water more than normal and noticed 2 stress cracks on the bottom of the hull. I took it to Fin and Feather in Fort Worth to see about getting it fixed, and they said it was under warranty (even though I was the second owner) and would see what could be done. Low and behold they called and said they sent it up to Springfield but there was nothing that could be done to repair it. So Bass Pro would be giving me a new boat! Took my 70hp Evinrude and console off and stuck it on a new 92 TX 17 hull. I was needless to say pretty happy. So back in the day they used to take care off customers. However I have read throughout the years how Bass Pro has gone down hill more times than not. I will never say never, but when I do decide to get a different boat, it probably will not be a Tracker. I have been looking at the Ranger RT178, the past few years but when BP bought Ranger I had a feeling it wouldn't be good situation. So I think I'm out on that. I'm the type that wants a 17' to 18' boat, glass or aluminum. So I am pretty much out on Ranger, Triton and Nitro even though they still make a glass boat that size. When Vexus was about to come out, I was a little interested until you see the price! Not a tournament guy, just want a good boat for fun and leisure. And why the H*ll did Skeeter quit making their 17 footer. Not everyone wants a big boat. Anyway, still fishing out of my 89/92 TX17 although I am in need of a new trailer. Of course BP will not answer me on purchasing on of those either.

Dude, you paid $321.00 for a tach and water gauge? Maybe you should think about re-doing your gauges with what ever gauge fits with your motor and wire them accordingly? You may have to make a whole new panel and rearrange your gauges but that isn't difficult to do and a hell of a lot cheaper.

Guys it’s just a sign of the times. Don’t really know what Johnny did to warrant all the hate.
I really liked the bps catalog when it came they are just trying to survive in a ever changing market.
All these boat companies he bought and closed weren’t selling enough boats to survive on there own.
Ranger hasn’t exactly been the example of financial stability long before Johnny.
If there is a problem at ranger guess we will find out soon. I own a rt 188 just so you know.
Think about one thing he opened way to many stores when he should have been focusing on internet
Sales. Look at the over head of a store vs internet warehouse. So who knows maybe he could just be trying to survive like anyone else. We need to quit tearing down the successful or we really might end up a commie state.

Pretty much every customer service number has been that way since March. They claim its because of the virus, I don't know if I buy that or not though. last time on the phone with Minn Kota, gave up after 45 minutes on hold, requested a call back, they called back 4 hours later. Same story with Humminbird. Same story with nearly every parts house we use at work.

Customer service and support has turned into an all day time waster for me, on nearly everything. The only exception being small locally owned stuff, they seem to be on point with their customer service.

If you want a new Ranger boat right now it is a 4 to 6 month wait so they are doing fine.
I represent several manufacturers whose customer service has suffered a lot since March. People working in offices were the first furloughed or sent to work at home.
Worker shortage has been all over the news so why would anyone question Rangers sincerity when they tell you the same thing?

Called the Ranger customer service number listed on this thread last week. Needed two windshields for an 85 335V. Not expecting to really get them though for a boat of that age. Spoke with Patty after about a 30 minute wait. Low and behold, they werent in stock but still available. Receipt from BPS as well. In my experience, no other boat company I have dealt with can still provide parts for a boat even close to that age. Extremely pleasantly surprised.

Buddy of mine just bought a new one and it might be the prettiest bass boat I’ve ever seen but he’s has several issues with it and he said the little stuff with the fit/finish isn’t the same
He’s always been a Ranger guy and he’s taking about going to another brand before next spring
