Don't know about Baccarac but at Salto and Comedero it's almost impossible to not catch numbers down there no matter what you throw or what area you throw it. Problem is your catching numbers but these fish are 3-5 lbs with an occasional 7-8lber thrown in so we are not talking about dinks here. Big baits are as appealing to them as they are to a double digit. For most a below average day down there would quite possibly be one of your best days ever up here.

been to picahos twice,el salto and comedero once in last 4 years with ron speed....virus forced us to cancel a combo comdero/picachos trip this year....lodge,food,guides and fishing was first class in every respect.....my buddy and i caught 0ver 900 fish last year at picacho and as someone mentioned, these are 3-5lb fish and we had several 6-7 lb fish.......year before last on comedero,we had 57 bass over 6lb,29 over 7lb,15 over 8lb and 5 over 9lb in 6 days....and we had our chances with a few that we felt would have easily been double digit....
put a trip down there on your bucket list....it will give you something to talk about the rest of your life...

If I had this decision I'd throw a big smallmouth trip into the decision mix. Lake St. Clair or Thousand Islands are considerations. I'd do St.Clair. No comparison in the fight between a 6 pound smallie and a 10 pound LM. Just watch the difficulty the anglers on MLF have getting smallies to the boat.

Advice? Wise men don't need it. Fools won't heed it.

For 6 ½ days (approx. 65 hours) on the waters of Lake Baccarac: All weighed on accurate scales and documented on video.

Over 8lbs ~ 16

Yes, these trips can happen at Baccarac but don't plan on it. Expectations are the ultimate trip killer. Go down there planning to have fun and you just might stumble across one of these.

Flying in on a private plane will cost you a bit more but worth it to some.

I've thought about all my options and what each trip cost. And what each lake offers. Im going to go to Oviachic with Donald Harper. Thanks for all the input and ideas.

I've had great times at both Picachos and El Salto, using Angler's Inn in the past. But the Feds' Travel Advisories list Sinaloa as a "DO NOT VISIT" state in Mexico, due to cartel activity, specifically kidnapping of American citizens. If you're an American down there, it's pretty much guaranteed that they know you have money. Has this advisory deterred anyone from a trip to Sinaloa (Picachos and El Salto specifically?)

Went to Salto in 19, Comedero this year. We had no issues whatsoever. Just fishing.

Is it because of the Rona? Ron Speeds just opened back up for Picachos, Salto, and Comedero. If so I wonder if that may shut back down also?
