Totally Awesome. Love that Fly Rod fishing. I started using a fly rod several years ago. Totally love it. I still love using my light spinning tackle as well. Get the best of two worlds. I have great results on the Rios using a sinking Crawdad or a sinking Grasshopper. Brown,Yellow, and Black seem to me are the colors that I get the best results on the Rios. A fighting Rio on a 3 weight fly rod is hard to beat. Enjoy the adventure. You are going to love it. woot

Great stuff, cool looking fly rods too!!! thumb

I have no doubt those little jigs are a killer on those Rios in that clear water. Thanks for sharing, and as always, making me extremely jealous. It's even worse now though that y'all are using fly rods grin

Thank you Laker one for the reply! Fish do seem to fight harder on a fly rod.

Side note: sure would like to see those crawdad and hopper flies

Side Note: Congratulations on your Rio Record. Is that going to be Fly Rod Catch&Release? I also watched you and Pot Licker on the Texas Parks&Wildlife Channel! Awesome job.

Thanks Gitter Done! Yes it will be submitted as a fly rod record and i did release it but Chuck has the C&R record Rio here. Its the one he caught during the filming of the show. I didn't see a category for C&R fly rod record. Its either one or the other.
That show was a once in a lifetime deal and Chuck deserves all the credit! Thank you Chuck flehan

Leo. There is a C&R Fly Rod record section for all water bodies. Weight record also! Submit one or the other or both. The fishing gods are looking down upon you. First Rio on the fly is not only a record fish but a record on your home river. Huge CONGRATULATIONS! bow_down

Side Note: Now if you can only break Rick's fly rod Bluegill Record, Alan's records, and J-Moe's Channel Catfish Record. hooked
