Fished Monday from daybreak until 4:00 pm. Water level looked to be a little above full pool and temp was around 94 degrees all day. The weather was ideal...calm & partly overcast all morning with partly cloudy skies in the afternoon. Shot video in the morning and took a few pics in the afternoon. The bite was real good...especially for red ear. Ended up with 1 bass, 3 Rios & somewhere around 200 sunnies. Didn't use the counter today, so not sure about the count, but it was non stop action most of the day, with one exception...the bite has slowed down at the intake area. All fish caught on Gulp Alive minnows & released to fight again. They have started making nice improvements at the Park Prairie site. New lumber now is on the boat loading dock...they don't have the tie up cleats installed yet, but will probably be soon. Video attached...Fayette 8-17-2020

A you Tube channel...that's all I need hammer

Laker...I fish for sunfish & accidentally catch Rios...so whatever color I am using is what they get. This week I was using watermelon pearl around 60 %...chartreuse shad 30 % & emerald shiner 10 %.

Yet another AWESOME video from the "Master of Fayette"! Good job Sir and thanks as always for sharing. As been mentioned many of times in the past. "After watching your videos, it makes you want to go fishing"! Keep up the GREAT year!

Side Note: What has been the best month for you catching fish on Fayette? Also best month for you catching fish anywhere?

Gitter...Dang, you ask some good questions. So you made me go back & review the log I have been keeping for years. It made me realize how I have evolved & how each year is different. But in general, I would have to say that March, April & May are my best months of Fayette for bass. Years ago (1980s) I would have put October in the top 3...it used to be a killer month back then. Best bass day on Fayette was 98 bass on 5/18/2012. All summer long is good for Sunfish, but I would have to give June & July top billing. This year our total count was just shy of 1800 for those two months. That did include 2 three day trips to lake Notfayette which really enhanced our numbers. 2cents

Super post and a super video. Good job Steve. Like you I chart my fishing trips and rate each trip on the fish I catch. I would say for sunfish June and July are my best months. For Rios it's September and October! thumb Again super job on a super lake!

cheers

Thanks Vogey! I tried using the Gulp Minnows on a bunch of Rios we found on the Guadalupe last week and could not get them to bite! I guess different bites for different water bodies. noidea

You and Banker keep some pretty good stats on your fishing trips. Your results speak for themselves. Keep up the great fishing.
