 First Rio with a fly rod

I caught my first Rio with my fly rod and a 1/80th handtied jig ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2020/08/full-60017-63715-20200816_143842.jpg) I am very new to fly fishing unlike pot licker who has been at it since i got her a fly rod for her bday last year. Well done. Looks like a pretty stretch of river you are fishing. Fly fishing is great fun and you get to enjoy some pretty good battles from fish that you hook.

WOW, that's a dandy. Watch out now your going to get hooked on fly fishing and will turn out like J-Moe, never to touch a non fly pole again. Been there, done that and is one heck of an addiction to break.

 Fishing "God's Country"! Awesome post and fish on the fly! Nicely done!  Side Note: Bet those flies were "HOME :MADE"!  Also love the PINK Fly Rod !

The west prong is a beautiful river and your right about the fight. Seems they fight harder on a fly rod.
