Had a family member move to belton, thinking about going this week. Anyone got any tips? I’ve never been. Also curious about running the lake

Tough right now. Suggest waiting till mid Sept. Lake easy to navigate using your GPS. Only a few hazardous areas and they are displayed on chart.

Fun lake, easy to get around. I have great luck there prefishing, but during tournaments not so much...
This time of year can be tough, though. They’re there, but hard to find.

Hows the fishing on Belton in Mid-October. Taking my wife fishing for a few days. Don't want her to get bored and not catch any fish

Trim it up and hammer down, nothing to worry about, just use common sense and take the points wide.
BEAUTIFUL lake whether the fish are biting or not. Just an awesome body of water to be on, period.

Might hire a local guide for white bass and hybrids. I love Lake Belton and hope to get back there someday.

Belton is easy...if they're biting, you will catch SOMETHING. May not be a bass, but you will get bit. If they're not biting you won't catch anything. If an area looks fishy, then fish it. It's probably holding some fish. The lake is easy to run..just stay in the middle and go.
