A Chevy is not for everyone and some people should not own one. Some deserve a Ford or Dodge or other kind of brand. Some people do well with Fords and such. Anything less than 400hp will not do very well pulling the equipment that I pull.

I've seen a bunch of the new Chevy's out there as well. Personally I don't care much for them either, but apparently those who do, really do.
I am surprised to see them outsell Ram with the Ram having a new body style as well. Ram has a better transmission, better mpg, better interior, and lower price.

I like for others to drive Dodge and Ford. Better for the rest of us!

Nah. Stump Jumper is right. Those GMs are some flimsy things. Not as bad as the Fords and “Dodge” stuff, but pretty close. Chevy owners get to look forward to electrical issues like door lock motors and window motors pretty early into the payment book. But that’s ok, it gets them ready for the sensors and transmissions and such that come LATER IN THE PAYMENT BOOK. LOL.
My Tundra is paid in full last April, has 85,000 miles on it. During that 85,000 miles I have changed the oil and filter 8 times, replaced the BFG’s once and then replaced them again with Toyos, and replaced daytime running light/turn signal bulb on the driver side at around 60,000 miles and the passenger side a few weeks ago.
That is honest to gods truth of my experience with costs of ownership.
I haven’t had to even TOUCH another part on the truck So your beloved Toyota has had more repairs than my ram/dodge. 90,000 miles on my 2015 not a single thing has been done to it except oil and filter air filters and fuel filters.

Could you imagine how much gas a Tundra would use in 415,000 miles . Alot Can you imagine how many times one of the big 3 would have been in the shop and the recalls.

Do any of the truck manufacturers have a good paint that doesn't start peeling off? I see Fords, Rams, and of course my very own Chevy paint coming off.

None of the water based paint and eco friendly clears are very good at lasting for long.

What I see on my Chevy and a lot of other vehicles is the paint not sticking to the primer. It looks like the primer is oxidizing and causing the paint to peel off. I repaired a spot on my Chevy's roof that I could peel off strips of paint 6 inches long. I started out with a spot about 2" x 1" and ended up fixing a 6" x 12" area before I found good paint.

I've had five new GM suv's and six new GM trucks over the last forty years and run all of them to around 130,000 miles. I have never had one issue with any paint. nor have I ever had any major repair issues. I had one Tahoe where the fuel pump went out twice at $700 dollars a pop and on my Z71 I had a steering box go out that cost around $800 bucks, no issues with the drive train or any paint issues or knobs falling off inside the cab. I did buy a Dodge Ramcharger once and had the transmission go out two thousand miles after the warranty expired. I will always buy from the big two, either GM or even a Ford, since the other one is now owned by Fiat.

Never had a issue with any of my Chevy 2500s. But I bought a Ford for my last 1. But those new 2500s are growing on me slowly, have seen more then a few lifted ones that look very nice.
I'll be buying a new truck later this year. Was thinking it would be A Ford, but we shall see.
