I was determined to fish for bass at first light and then switch over to bluegill. Got up at 4 am and out the door at 5 so I was definitely on schedule. I got to the ramp as first light was starting so I was looking forward to get out there for hopefully some early topwater action. One truck/trailer was sitting at the ramp so I needed to wait until they pulled out. I had noticed that they were basically in the middle so there was no way I was going to fit beside them. It was no big deal so I started to take my boat cover off. The next thing I noticed was a young man approaching me asking if I could help them. I said sure and what was their problem. I thought maybe the truck would not start and they needed it jumped but that was not the case. Apparently they backed the truck in so far that the trailer had dropped off the ramp. The Tundra was two wheel drive and they were getting pulled back into the water from having no traction. So I unhooked my boat trailer and pulled their truck/trailer out. I told them if they had been at the other ramp, they probably would have had the truck under water. But they did not and everything ended well. Because I got on the water an hour late, I just decided to go after the bluegills. The bite was pretty consistent and it was a mixed bag of 5 to 6 inch fish and 8 to 9 inch fish at both places I fished first. I tried a different spot today the last two hrs of my day and I found them stacked up in one area and most were really nice fish. Hammered them and left them biting at 1:30. Did not see Steve on the lake today and I think I was the only one fishing for bluegills.

Great post. Glad you were able to help out some other people. That is what life is all about! As a bonus you also were able to catch some of those Fayette Slabs. Nicely done. thumb

I thought I caught several fish that looked like they had already been "sore mouthed". Haha. I'm really glad I was able to help those guys. They were looking pretty desperate but they had enough sense not to keep trying to pull out and the water. The water was only up to the tailgate of their truck. This is the second week in a row for me helping. Last week I towed a couple of guys with engine trouble to Oak Thicket from the intake. Several years ago Bob Greene who guides on the lake and a very nice fellow towed me and my brother back to the ramp from Jonnies Cove. So it can happen to all of us.
