Thanks Steve, Flags, Cat Crew 68, Doc, Jamie, Barry, Alan, Scondrel, and SK for the replies! Flags: This is a very good Rio year to catch "Big Rios". Jamie: Yes Sir, I love getting dirty catching Rios! SK: Rios are AWESOME fighters, especially on ultra light tackle.

When we would catch some really big ones in Spring, we would grill them on the half shell like redfish. It takes a pretty big Rio to do it but back then we would keep some of the bigger ones in that season just for that purpose. Rios have a different taste than most anything we catch down here for whatever reason.

Side Note: When will most of the Rios go into hiding for the winter?

Thanks Gitter for the reply. Usually right after the first major cold front most of the Rios will go into their "Non Active Winter Mode"!

Thanks Gitter! It's to late. The Rios willl be scattered and harder to find. By the end of the month they will be super hard to find.
