The temps were HOT but the bite was HOTTER! From 5:00 to 6:30 the bite was Epic. Top water bite was awesome at about 6:00 in 55 fow. We had already limited 3 of us by 5:45 and went to single hooks the rest of the day. Went to Towash at about 6:45 and caught steady til we called it a day at about 8:00. Easily 200 fish hit the deck today. Keepers were mostly 24" plus and had 3 keeper Hybrid mixed in. Don't forget your top waters over the next few weeks. I like clear Zara Spooks. We located massive schools of Shad on the river edges with no fish on them early. Checked them later on and the fish had pushed them up out deep. We did loose 2 really nice fish today to broken hooks. Bending back and forth on these fish after so many hook ups takes its toll. Will be doing hook upgrades tomorrow. All keepers once again came on RSR 3" casting slabs in Green. If you see my White and Lime Green Epic, pull up, we don't stop for no reason and we haven't had one single boat fish within 100 yards of us on the last 9 trips and we have limited every time! I will say that I have been using something consistently over the last month. Wanted to really test it pretty good before giving my approval. I ordered the Thump Em Up about a month ago. We have turned it off and on many times seeing if it made a difference. I can't say it pulls in alot of fish because I don't stop in the first place unless I see large schools. But it 100% holds them nearby longer. We run it consistently now. The remote feature is Golden! We stick and move alot chasing schools. It will give you more time to work a school. I have used it enough to say that. The bite this next week should get even better. Good luck and catch em up. [Linked Image]

i ordered me some of those slabs and not this week but next week or so gonna head down there with my 7 year old son. i'm new to striper fishing and am also new to the tech (Garmin) these days. We were pretty strictly black bass fisherman growing up and after a "break" for 30 years I bought a bass boat and want to expand my horizons, you could say. we were on whitney a month or so ago for my first time in about 30 years. i didnt really have striper stuff, but we went and looked at the fish on sonar.
