I finally went to Twok. I went primarily to catfish. I put in at the east twok 2 mile bridge ramp. I was looking for the timber that was mentioned in another post.
I thought twok had more timber than it does. from the ramp I went left under the bridge. I didn't see any timber. I turned around and went back the other way. I found some timber. I tied to some timber and put the range cubes and fermented milo out. I had different punch baits and chicken breast. After an hour I didn't get a bite.I moved to another set of timber. Same results there. I gave up and tried to crappie fish under the bridge. I never got a bite. I never saw anyone else catch a crappie as well.
maybe it is just too hot. I could have done just as bad at JP. And it is closer to me.

We were out on Lake Worth last night, dead still, humid, and hot. I saw about 4 or 5 other guys out there fishing last night too, don't think they had any luck either. I couldn't even find fish, on the Humminbird. Caught one 3 lb channel cat on a jug line , and got skunked otherwise.

I would shy away running on TWOK without a current TOPO map. Navionics, Lakemaster, or even old school laminated paper map. That lake can be very dangerous if you don't know where you are going and where not to run to get there.

Don’t rely on navionics or lake master as both are highly inaccurate for submerged timber. Seems like they could get that improved. I use a map I got off the forum when I go. I will look for the map later today but somebody will probably post it before I do.

Sorry guys...the link to the map is broken..I can’t figure out how to bring up the old post...here are some screen shots of where the timber is. I will have to look in my Dropbox at work to find better ones. This gives you a good idea where some of the timber is. [Linked Image]

In my opinion, that map is not accurate on the north most branch. It doesn't show any timber in front of Windpoint Park. I can tell you there is tons of timber in front of Windpoint. That is prime catfishing up there. Don't run through there.

Bentman... check with me in the near future. I'm about to move my RV out there. I have fished there regularly about 15 years now. I love it. When you get on the bluecats, it doesn't get much better. If you happen into the white bass, they won't be many dinks. I haven't tried the crappie fishing yet but will have plenty of opportunity soon. I was there last Friday and found the motherload of 12" channels. The actIon was so hot I could only fish one rod.

Stay safe!

No it’s not accurate! I have a camper at anchor inn and it’s my lake house. I only fish this lake in Texas and trust me. It’s close but not accurate! Biggest point is to never fire off into th middle. Stay on either side and your fine. If you want to fish 35 foot + trees then from one side or the other head towards the middle slowly once you pass the Sabine River channel on west side and the edge is not as defined on east side.

Can one of you guys with a more accurate map post your map since mines no good? I’ve been going off of this map for the last 5 yrs and it’s kept me out of trouble. The timber up by Wind Point is visible. Anybody blowing through there has a screw loose. I have scanned all my drift lines and pinned where the timber ends and starts on my Helix in most of the lake but I sure would like an accurate map to keep on my phone.
