South of I-30 is fairly safe to run. There are a few trees around the big point north of Rush Creek, and a big one near the dam that is well marked and quite visible.
Up north, you really need to know where you're going.
Ray Hubbard is generally an easy lake to fish. The rip rap areas hold fish all year. My personal best (12lbs) was caught on Ray Hubbard off of some rip rap in August on a shakey head.
