Three of us went with Charlie Haralson on Falcon. We originally were going to Amistad but Charlie said bigger bass were coming out of Falcon the week prior. We met early and headed out. We met at 6AM at the State Park. While we did get some sleep in the air conditioned cabin in the State Park, the plywood bed base was not friendly to comfortable sleep. We did not know there was a need to bring a cushion or mattress, but we improvised. Charlie showed up with coffee and breakfast tacos, an unexpected but nice gesture that started us all off on the right foot. Next, we put our reel on Charlie's rods (he did not have any lefties). Off to the boat ramp, Charlie's boat is immaculate and well stocked with tackle. We headed towards the border crossing bridge and Charlie taught us how to work a Shaky Head with a worm on the bottom and went over exactly how to set the hook. Almost immediately my Dad caught a bass that was his PB. This spot was a little crowded so we headed out to several others. Soon, my brother caught his PB also. A little after noon the 110 degree temperature started to take its toll. Charlie had lots of Gatorade and water for us and he found a safe spot for my brother to jump over and swim around a little. The bass action slowed down some so we hit some structure and found lots of crappie. Charlie talked to us about line selection, different tackle and his preferences for rod and reels. My big fish of the day was a little shy of my PB. We fished until after 4PM, quite a long day on the water for no shade in temperatures that started at 100 and reached 115 on the car thermometer. Charlie cleaned the crappie at the cleaning station we helped ready his boat for travel. Overall, it was a great day. We learned a lake we hadn't been on before, two PB's were landed and we totaled 34 fish on board with around 11 going in the ice chest. ![[Linked Image]](https://i.postimg.cc/K8YwRMCw/BFISH1.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://i.postimg.cc/59nmjR19/JFISH1.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://i.postimg.cc/CLRb5MmJ/LMB.jpg)

Good job!
I see a lot of people out there. I haven’t been out myself for almost two month though.
