I'm a 14 year old boy and I live in Fort Worth. I have been dying to catch my fisrt smallie, and I would love to do it on the fly. Any advise on where I should try?

Iām not sure about any smallies around Ft. Worth but I catch quite a few near New Braunfels on the Guadalupe and the comal rivers. Have also caught some nice ones on the Blanco River.

Man bud your options a limited with lakes that have smallies around us and then catching them on a fly.
Grapevine, Ray Roberts and Texoma all have them with Texoma having the highest population.
Good luck!

Lake Texoma has the best population, but would probably take blind casting sinking line with a clouser...pretty exhausting fly fishing, and its pretty low odds a smallie would get it before a green fish, a sand bass or small striper.

Texoma, Dfitz catches smallmouth there on a fly rod. But he could catch them on a Coke can and a piece of twine with a paper clip.
