I understand that torques for mounting the outboard to the stern of the boat may very depending on the boat or type of material the stern is made of. However, is there a general rule of thumb for mounting an outboard to the back of the jack plate? I have a 150 Pro XS on an atlas hydraulic jack plate. I have seen a couple of different numbers on the internet, but 90 ft lbs seems to be the most popular. Any advice would be appreciated.

Yep 90 ft. lbs. will work. Make sure your using quality mfg. stainless steel mounting hardware. Nothing wrong with using a little Loctite on the self locking nuts as well.

Skip the Loctite unless you want to gall the threads if you ever have to remove them. Not needed with Lock nuts.
