I am very new to saltwater fishing. I am from NE Texas but have a granddaughter that lives in South Houston. Where are some good locations to string and chicken leg for Blue Crabs around Galveston or South Houston? When is the best time of day and year to catch them? All help would be greatly appreciated. I would like to take my granddaughter out and let her catch some. Thanks in advance.

Apparently there is no one in the Galveston area that is on TFF that has ever been crabbing with a string. Or is it a top secret on where to go and what time to go??? I promise I will not catch all the bays and the Gulf out of Blue Crabs! Just asking for a little advice to take a 4 yr old crabbing. Thanks again for helping me.

Can't give you specific spots, but there are a ton of videos that may be more specific!

I always see people parked along Gulf Freeway/45 on my way into Galveston. Never fished there but looks like it can hold crabs, esp along the grass. Go when the tide is up.

texas city dyke. anywhere you can access the water on harborside drive in galveston. the marsh on either side of 45 just past bayou vista. sylvan beach in laporte.the sloughs on port road just off 146. taylor lake on red bluff road near 146.
