Any body have experience with these? They are for spider rigging but I want to mount the bases on the back corners of my bass boat for drifting for big blues. Obviously need something strong and quickly removable. Being that these are for spider rigging for crappie will they flex and pull out of my deck?
Driftmaster has a trolling system that is clearly stronger but I want a small base for when not in use.

Have you considered Bee Ready rod holders?

The T-250 H are great T bars. I have driftmasters on my front t-250 h T bar, bee readys on my side t bars, flush mounts all along the back, and 2 spider king outriggers for the back corners.

I will tell ya why I have a variety. The driftmasters hold the rods the best but are easily snagged by cast nets. I throw my cast net off the back deck of my rig so I removed all the driftmasters and replaced them with flush mounts 2 yrs ago and man what a difference that made in not getting snagged all the time. Probably one of the best improvements I’ve done to the boat. I have driftmaster on a t 250 h tbar on the front of my boat and love it. Don’t get the smaller crappie tbars.

The bee readys are also good rod holders but are terrible for trolling planer boards out the back. Large diameter rod butts also don’t fit right and are hard to get in and out of the holders. I like my bee readys for anchor fishing and drifting out the side. The t bars from Bee ready break easily and I’ve replaced 3 of them due to breakage.

I also have 2 spider king outrigger rod holders that slide into flush mounts. These are great for the back corners of the boat and are designed for trolling and pulling boards. I absolutely love them.

I have mounted the TH-250 on our bass tracker. They seem good enough for what we do. We've caught up to a 17lb blue on them. Mounted one on front deck it is in the plywood only. It is not as strong rigid as I would like(plywood flexes a bit)... but a big gar took a bait and ran sideways the other day, the pole was bent down touching the water down and to the left of the rod holder, and it held fine.

On the stern of the boat we have one mounted in to the aluminum deck, and it's solid.

The rod holder setup itself has lifetime warranty. I find it hard to believe it would break... biggest issue would be if the leverage can force the bolts to come out somehow... I haven't tried drifting, but if you use heavy braid and get hung I'm not sure what would happen.

Hope this info helps.

Thanks for the replies. I will consider them all but I’m really liking the ease of adding some flush mounts on the back corners for those spider kings. Hadn’t heard of them before.

Michael Littlejon told me about them a couple of years ago. They are awesome rod holders but I will forewarn ya, my buddy Kyle tried to order some and had a difficult time with getting them and ended up having to cancel his order. Couldn’t contact anyone by phone or E-mail and got turned off by their lack of response. When I ordered mine it took forever to get them, I contacted them by e-mail with no reply but they eventually showed up. Took so long I had forgotten I even ordered them. It’s a simple but effective design but the spider Kings are the only ones I’ve seen. These could easily be copied and would sell like hot cakes for guys that like to fish out the back of the boat.

I also have some of the removable driftmaster t bars that go into the flush mount rod holders. I switched to the spider kings because the driftmaster t bar overhangs the side of the boat and will get hit if you rub up against a dock, a tree, or bridge pilings. I have several of these collecting dust. [Linked Image]
