If you had a choice which one would you choose and why? I was told that the clarity was not as good on the Garmins, is this true? What does 1 do that the other does not? Why do you think one is better than the other? 93sv and a102sv Garmin w/panoptics and a Ultrex 24v or 2 Helix 10's, 1side imaging, 1 down imaging, Mega360 and a Ultrex 24v Thanks

Either choice would be better with a Ghost instead of the Ultrex. Ha.

What type of a fisherman are you? Mostly shallow? Offshore? Both? What lakes do you spend most of your time on?

I had a Garmin echomap 93sv and now I have humminbird helix 9G2N mega si.. With garmin it is great at 2D, good at Di but SI was lacking. With bird I love the Mega Si and Di and can see things that I did not see on garmin. I have old panoptix and it was good but livescope is great ( friend had it). I just could not justifiy buying a $1500 trabsducer with 5 kids. If you have money to spend go garmin and livescope if you are on a budget go with Helix 9 or 10 mega...I have no clue about 360..

I’ve never run Garmin but have heard from multiple and seen video evidence their DI is not true DI. It’s sucks. Other than that I’m really not sure. Look at both and decide for yourself.

I wouldn't say "priceless," I'd say a couple grand per unit....

Id for sure get the helix set up. 360 mega is amazing, it lets you see everything around you so you know where to fish and where to cast. Livescope is also amazing but a 93 unit is small and most people who buy that unit end up upgrading rather quickly. If I had to choose 360 or live I would keep 360. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2020/08/full-107866-63172-117706455_3188332671250913_5623777795186224033_o.jpg) This pic below is in 7 feet of water with mega 360, that little bridge was not visible on my normal 360 and I never saw it on my side imaging. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2020/08/full-107866-63173-117715544_3188348071249373_6872481831712814046_o.jpg) This is a road bed that was done during construction of a lake.

The HB 360 and Garmin Livescope are definitely considerations for each. But really there is not alot of difference other then those 2 features.
I went with Lowrance.

Why do you think the Ghost is better? Either choice would be better with a Ghost instead of the Ultrex. Ha. Because I have an Ultrex and a friend has the same boat with a Ghost. The other night, I spot locked next to him and my Ultrex was dancing around endlessly working to keep my boat still. His was almost dead silent and motionless. The Ghost just performed BETTER in the exact same conditions. My opinion is simply based on my observations. The looks and features of the Ghost is oblective, but the performance was easy to see and NOT hear. Haha.

The Ghost is awesome. Very quiet but if you are buying HB graphs then you need Ultrex. If you are buying Garmin then get their TM. Master using them together and your fishing will benefit!
