*Check local laws before doing this! In the state of Texas, It is legal. I have proof from TPWD, but in other states, the laws vary.*

Hope you can take these tips and raise your own pet bass! Putting a bass in a native fish tank can be quite stressful at first for both you and your new fish, but with these simple steps, you can be on your way to feeding your bass for the first time! Now... often, people recommend getting baby largemouth bass rather than their larger counterparts, but as you can see with Benny, it doesn't really matter how big they are as long as they are given the proper care.

I can't say that this hasn't ever crossed my mind. I myself have two 55 gallon freshwater aquariums. I'd just feel bad keeping such a large species of fish contracted to a small 4 wall container. A fish that large needs to live in the wild, or in an aquarium of at least 500+ gallons of water. I think if you raised one as a fry, and then released it as an adult once it got too large, I don't think that it would be able to survive on its own in the wild. As much as I'd love to contain one, I just don't think it's a good idea.

I had friend in hs that had a pet bass for years. Fat and happy fish. Would let you pet it like a cat...fish

When I am not fishing I am thinking about fishing. And mostly what I should have done differently my last trip!
