too bad for the HS guys who won't get to see chicks in those super short shorts and sports bras. They are the real losers here. Thank you for bringing us back to reality.

Different school districts have different rules. There will never be agreement by everyone within the district let alone the people outside the district. They can do whatever they choose to do within guidelines set for them. I've been affected by the rules fairly dramatically before.
Vote them out, leave them alone or run for office yourself. If the vast majority of the constituency wants to make it an issue, usually the district caves in. I don't see this as an attempt to control all aspects of the students. Pants and shirt. No signage and no sunglasses or hat. Keep it simple. Like has been noted they can't see everything anyway.

Y’all are amazing in that y’all can find damned near anything to argue about.
For the record, my son was seen walking through the den in his boxers while my daughter was doing zoom school in the spring. I made a rule that he doesn’t leave his room without shorts or long pants now. We also bought some sort of screen so that there won’t be anything behind her but a screen. Times are weird. I don’t like these camera calls, but they’re becoming the norm. I have to wear pants now, and I don’t like it.

That’s some solid parenting right there. Continue to lead by good example DaveDave.

I'm trying to picture how badly this would have gone if it were me schooling from home. This is going to be a total failure.

Have you seen what some of these kids wear to school? There isn't much of a dress code anymore. Most already wear shorts, t-shirts and hoodies to class.

I can see the value...my niece works from home and has at least 50% of the time for the last few years. On work days, she wakes up, showers, gets ready for work as if she were going to the office and then goes about doing her work at her desk. She's very organized and I think it helps to keep her motivated. I also understand the viewpoint that you want to be comfortable in your own home....glad I don't have kids and don't have to deal with it.

I'm teaching my kids the right way. You learn the system, then learn how to work around it. For all zoom meetings, simply turn off the camera. If the teacher doesn't like it, then you claim a slow internet connection and you had to turn it off so you it didn't lock up. If teacher insists, then a piece of scotch tape over the camera makes everything a blurry mess. It will give said teacher a headache and they will request that camera be turned off.
