wife and i happened to be making a big circle through western states several years ago and saw huge number of bikers at every national park...actually we met hundreds on the highway plus there were large numbers of bikers at every scenic overlook and truck stop...turns out they were on their way to Sturgis and I saw bikers literally from every state.....talked to several from different areas and they were average guys like you and me who liked to ride bikes and this was a vacation trip they looked forward to ...

several years ago I stopped at Savana,Ill. on one of my river trips. Savana is a popular destianation for midwest bikers due to a popular bar/restaurant that hosts a lot of concerts/bands....ate dinner there couple nights and they had a gift shop with all sorts of biker wear...I saw a T-shirt that I wish I had bought...it said simply...."It's the ride not the destination"....and that really applies to motorcyclists (river rats too)........

It's probably the most stress relieving thing I've ever done. If I've had a really day or week I hop on the bike get out of town and I'm a new man plus I ride it the 10 miles to work every day. There an old saying, you'll never see a motorcycle at a psychiatrist office.

Hit Sturgis in 2001 in the middle of a two week cruise. 17 states, 2 Canadian provinces, 6000 miles on a 1990 Sportster 883. Turned the bike over 100k on that trip.

It's a real pic, just not from this year's rally.

Me and the wife make the trip every year. She doesn't put on the slutty outfits until we get into town. [Linked Image]

It says 2020. Credibility with this dig failed-
