I'm looking for recommendations for a low profile bait caster reel for my 9 year old grandson. He is experienced at throwing bait caster reels. Best quality, easy to throw, under $100.00
Thanks in advance

Diawa Fuego. Was using mine this morning (the Tatula was locked in the boat) and once again wondering how an $80 reel could work so well.

Might look at Kastking royal legend elite or Picifun Phantom for a much more expensive feel at under $100. I know I will get poo pooed for this but I like mine. I like both but the I lean towards the Kastking.

Stewart Discount Fishing Tackle

Owners name is Christopher Stewart. Great to deal with and ships the same or next day. Lots of reels to choose from with upwards of 40% or more off. Oh, no tax and free shipping too.

bass pro "pro qualifier" or a lews speed spool. Have and use both a ton and they've both functioned well. I'd lean slightly towards the lews just because I like the paddle handle grips better!

This is tough...way too many decent ones in this price range for a novice.

I'm a Diawa guy and have a few Fuegos. They are a good reel for the $$$.

I agree. for the money ( 40-50.00) they are great reels to learn on. The KastKing Sparticus has dual brakes for easier learning.

Lews makes some good cheaper reels that cast extremely well for the money, Mark Rose signature series and an American Hero.

Check out the Okuma Cerros reel, Its a few $ over what you posted, but I have several of these and they have been bullet proof.

Another vote for Daiwa Fuego CT and Lew’s Speed Spool LFS. I like and use them both exclusively right now. I would buy them again.
