What psi are you guys running on the newer style Skeeter trailers? The tire says 50psi max but I’m being told to run 42-45psi. I’ve also been told to run 50psi.

Yeah, 50 psi (if thats whats on the tire) Don't have a skeeter but that dont matter. I do have hundreds of hrs on rv forums and pulling rv's and some time with boat trailers. I have never ever heard advise to run tires that low. Always full psi.

I run mine 5 under max. I tow at 75 often

If you stay 65 or under max would be good

But theyll gain 5 psi going down the road and more above 65 mph.

I was told the same , Max PSI .
In addition , I run a simple $20 I/R gun with me and check both sidewall temps and hub temps --- .
If my tires are running a little lower than Max PSI , my side walls heat up more than normal . I am assuming the higher temps are not good for the tire itself and
checking my hubs is a little proactive measure to look for early signs of bearing failure .

I had one of the tires patched this afternoon at a tire shop and the guy there put 42psi in the tire. I told him that I run them that 50. Hecsaid that when they get hot I’m going to be exceeding the max psi. He said he would put it at 45 but if I wanted to run them at 50 I could put it there on my own. Just making sure I wasn’t making a mistake running them at 50.

Goodyear always recommended adding 10 extra psi if you run over 65.

Look for the trailer placard close to the front right/ starboard of trailer it will have vin number, along with tire size AND recommended tire pressure for those specific tires.
