The gist of it is that they switched from generating power on a set schedule to automatically generating power when the system needed it. So now instead of being able to blow a horn to give a 15-minute warning (like you get below Texoma) before they start generating and releasing water it now just automatically starts. So if you are wading a few hundred yards down river you can find yourself in trouble in a hurry. At least one poster on here has mentioned how they had to be rescued when they got stuck. They still let you launch kayaks but the days of swimming and wading are gone. Not saying you will get ran off every time but I know that Corps of Engineers employees are down there at least occasionally because they ran me off (politely) a few years back, which is how I learned of the change.

Saturday - June 20, 2020. Long sleeves are for sun protection; Columbia fishing shirt stays cool in hot temps.

I tried to go fish below the Dam at Lavon this morning and it was closed. I am assuming due to Covid but does anybody know for sure? I also read that Llela(Lake Lewisville) is partially closed and fully closed on the weekends. Do you guys know which dams in the dfw area are still open for walk-in fishing for fly fishing? Iā€™m really looking for any good walk-in areas to fly fish in DFW. Just need a little morning therapy before going to work or starting the day! Lol.
