If you ever get to the Florida Keys, take some time to do some green iguana angling. I caught several on a 6’6” Ugly Stik with 20 pound test on a Abu 6600 reel. ![[Linked Image]](https://texasfishingforum.com/forums/pics/userpics/2020/08/full-107020-62468-d4d7a72a_4bb5_41b5_81d1_8d8e7395361d.jpeg)

What were they hitting? I have caught many a frog on worms, never an iguana.

What were they hitting? I have caught many a frog on worms, never an iguana. No lure needed. You just cut the lure off, make a noose with the line, and slip it over their heads. It takes some stalking, but my grandkids thought it was really fun. And the big ones take drag before you get them subdued.

Well done. The kids will ask you in the future if you remember the day we caught those lizards?

Put a prince nymph on a fly rod and cast it to the iguana and you could catch a world record.

That’s cool. It looks mad lol. Watch those tails, had a pet whip it’s tail and the tip caught me in the eye. Taught me to control that tail from then on.

Did you submit that iguana for a C&R record As with pelicans, turtles, sea gulls, geese, ducks, snakes, beaver, nutria, gators, bats, and other species, I looked for a catch and release iguana record category, but I couldn’t find one.

I fished the canals in Miami for peacock bass back in 2011 or so. The Iguanas were every where. As was their poo. If I were a home owner there, it would be all out war.
