Went last month, once to Fork with the oldest grandson(14) and once to Ray Hubbard with the youngest (10). The oldest always wants to go, the youngest just wants to come for the snacks my wife packs.  The oldest and I went to Fork yesterday, fished early morning until about 3 pm. We caught 5 fish between us. He caught this one on a worm early in the am. Best fishing trip Iāve ever gone on was this time of year for bull reds off of Venice, LA
It was as almost every cast with a VuDu shrimp lure under a popping cork.

Crappie fished Tuesday and Wednesday. Quit about 2pm both days, but had to fish by myself after about noon. Wife had had enough. It was hot. Way too hot. Would have quit earlier on Wednesday, but finally found the scaly rascals about 1 pm, spot locked and Livescope, and I was bound and determined to catch some of them.

Took it easy last week and only fished two days. The 500 mile round trip to Toledo Bend for Champs might have had something to do with that. For sure fishing tomorrow, most likely Sunday as well.

Went to Lavon this morning to test my Powertech prop. Bait everywhere. 3 casts and i had all i needed. Lost a trolling motor battery so i had to anchor. Tons of fish on hybrid point but nothing but small ones. Just got back from a 3 day trip to Hackberry, LA (Hackberry Rod and Gun). Limited every day - loads of speckled trout, reds and flounder. Great fun!
